SUMMARY:Team Abigail "Night Out" Charity Event
DESCRIPTION:In May 2016\, the world lost a wonderful and brave 9 year old girl with a huge heart\, whom we’d been fortunate enough to have as part of our extended family here at SCATS since she was only 2.  Since 2014\, Abigail Caplan-Jones had been slowly winning her fight with a rare form of bone cancer akin to Ewing’s Sarcoma. The battle turned unexpectedly in the spring\, however\, and ended tragically only 2 months after her 9th birthday.  We had established an ancillary fund at the time for her family to offset expenses associated with her treatment. The response and outpouring was both astounding and heartwarming. Over $40\,000 was raised for the Caplan-Jones family in GoFundMe contributions and via a number of local special events.  \nOn January 25th we’re hosting another special event in Abigail’s name\, and this time to help the countless other families that battle fiercely like the Caplan-Jones’ did and still do for children with cancer.  \nPlease have your little gymnasts and their friends join us on Saturday the 25th from 3 to 6 PM to have some fun in the gym the way Abigail would if she could be here with us.  There is only a minimum donation of $25 per child (cash only please\, or checks made out to PCRF). Our staff is donating their time to participate that night\, Valuetina’s is donating pizza for the kids\, and 100% of proceeds benefit the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF).  We’re taking sign-ups already\, so save your spot because space may be limited.  \nThank you to all those that supported Abigail and family on their hardest days and join us in the new year to continue her valiant battle. We look forward to a full gym in her name.

SUMMARY:"Save-A-Life" Night Out Event
DESCRIPTION:We have a fun night planned for Saturday April 6th here at SCATS. And while we have a lot of those throughout the year in our gym\, this one is special. 100% of pro-ceeds from this “Parents’ Night Out” event will benefit the “A Home 4 Ever” and “Karla’s Pack” animal rescues\, two great organizations devoted to helping animals in need.  \nPlease join us on April 6th from 3 to 6 PM to have a blast in the gym in support of their unified cause of helping to find animals of all species and ages the forever homes they desperately need. Our staff is donating their time to participate that night\, and there is only a minimum donation of $25 per child to attend. We will also be displaying a bin in the front office through April for donations of food and pet supplies for the furry residents of the rescues. Look for more details soon\, including which supplies are most needed at the moment.  \nWe’ll be taking sign-ups as of today for our event\, so save your spot— space may be limited! Inquire up front on how to donate directly to the rescues and learn more about the great work they’ve done for animal welfare.
