Lima, Peru– SCATS Alum and Michigan University Team Member, Cameron Bock, earned his way to a spot on the US Pan American Team following an impressive showing at Nationals earlier in July, and only proved in the South American arena that he had earned his place there.
Competing against the very top athletes in the Americas from the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba and Chile to name only a few, Cameron’s performances helped lead Team USA to a silver medal in the team standings. His posting of a 14.033 on parallel bars earned Cam some hardware of his own, garnering the bronze medal on the event.
A lot of added elements come along with competing internationally for athletes that are often lost on spectators. In addition to the added pressure of a high profile event overseas, everything from time changes to elevation changes can affect performance. Clearly, though, it takes more than that to shake Cameron’s focus! We can’t wait to see you represent Team USA again, Cam. Congratulations and keep up the awesome work.
