SCATS Team kids, Ami and Brynn, have athletic and mental fortitude that is inversely proportional to their small physical size, a trait not uncommon amongst more determined competitive gymnasts. These two particular Level 7 SCATS competitors don’t stop short off the mats, though. They also achieve to the highest level scholastically. Both student-athletes were given the highest academic achievement recognition at their Huntington Beach school, having maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout their 4th and 5th grade years!
While they were at it, they also both managed to garner the seldom-achieved Presidential Fitness Award, which is earned by measuring fitness levels across 5 categories, including muscular strength, stamina, speed, agility, and flexibility. They were two of only three students in the whole school to achieve this honor, and while they did so, they also both managed to break the all-time school record for most push-ups completed and recorded at 75* (they were asked to stop at 75, assumedly to give future student generations a fighting chance).
Since they’re constantly and fearlessly achieving so many remarkable feats and skills inside the gym and competition, we have to remind ourselves that these kids only appear to have superpowers working in their favor, and that they accomplish so much with good old fashioned hard work and diligence (we’re not completely ruling out radioactive spider bites, but they’re unlikely).
Our hats are off to you, Ami, Brynn, and all of our SCATS kids who are gold medal students as well as gymnasts! Great work here and during your impressive 2019 competition seasons– we’ll try to keep up!
